Don joined Best Friends in April 2019. Prior to that, he spent 13 years as a Montessori educator, a decade with the YMCA, and the last nine years in animal welfare focusing on leadership education and organization recovery. Don is adept at creating consensus environments that help individuals and communities realize their best potential.
 
Don is a cheerful problem-solver with a passion for details, data, and observation, all in service of “making things work.” His versatile skill set supports Best Friends’ learning advancement team, creating and facilitating university courses focused on progressive animal welfare offered in partnership with Southern Utah University.

Don lives in Kanab, UT with his wife Sue and three energetic pups named Coco, Pepper, and Bagel.
